About our Business

The AK Evans Group (AKE), was founded in 2006 and has become one of the most reputable and diversified business to come out of the Pilbara. AKE commenced its operations specialising in wet and dry hire of heavy earthmoving equipment and has built a strong reputation for suppling reliable machinery and having great support staff and an in-depth knowledge of regional WA, and other remote locations across Australia.

Since its launch, AKE has grown its operations to undertake a variety of services such as road construction and maintenance, rail maintenance, civil works, sub-divisions, mine rehabilitation works, dam construction, waste remediation, demolition works and solar farm installations. AKE can provide the know-how, safety management, people management, company owned machinery and experienced operators and install crews for such services. We believe it all starts with tried and tested project management processes.

AKE has a Head Office and Workshop in Port Hedland, Support Office in Perth and currently operate from various remote towns and mine sites across the country. Part of our successes in doing so is having our own logistics division which utilise our range of trucks to mobilise all our requirements on site, on time and in full. Our remote trailer mounted office, workshop and crib facilities means we can mobilise quicker and more successfully then has been the previous bench mark in our industry. Our strategic partnerships across the country also allows us to into local talent to support the delivery of your project.

AKE has also formed two joint venture companies, Maramara Pty Ltd and Buru Rehab Pty Ltd, which both specialise in project work and employment opportunities for indigenous communities. We are passionate about making a difference and believe we have a corporate responsibility to change the past by creating pathways forward.

About our Equipment

About our People

AKE employs fully qualified and experienced civil operators, multi-skilled machine operators, truck drivers, mechanics, civil supervisors and project managers, HSE managers, QA managers, site admin and labourers. All of our team members have knowledge and experience of various sites across the country are willing to complete any site-specific inductions, medical screenings or other specific training if required.

Relevant Experience - Solar Farm Installation

AKE has been contracted to manage all earthmoving and mechanical services for several large solar farm installation projects in recent years. AKE has provided full project management services (including on-site management of people and operations, as well as procurement, sub-contract management and administrative reporting) and has supplied high-quality machinery and experienced people to delivery these projects.

Specifically, AKE has experience in undertaking the necessary earthworks specific to a solar farm installation such as surveying and drilling post holes or pile driving of channels, as well as various earthworks for site management such as creating access roads, suitable drainage channels and parking or laydown areas. AKE also has experience in sub-contracting and managing other site works such as the procurement and installation of perimeter fencing.

Furthermore, AKE has experience in performing the unique mechanical works relevant to the installation of a solar farm, such as installing posts, mounting cells, mounting trackers and installing PV modules in line with design specifications.

In all experiences, AKE has undertaken these works in line with relevant safety standards and guidelines, as well as ensuring all Council, site and Principal regulations are adhered to. The above and below images showcase AKE's recent work installing solar farms in regional Australia.
